We are a husband and wife team who shoot UK and Destination Weddings. Originally from South Africa we are now based in Dorking, Surrey and have been living in the UK for nearly 10 years. Our couples are absolutely loving the next day creative “Shoot The Dress” sessions that we offer.

Professional Photographer Magazine featured our work along with an interview in the July 2008 issue. In January of this year Chanelle was awarded Portrait Photographer of the year by Digital Photographer magazine.

This Morning August 5, 2008

Our admin at the main TTD website received an e-mail from a UK show called “This Morning” requesting brides to share their experience. We just wanted to pass it along for our readers. Sounds like a fun opportunity! Here’s what the email says:

“We’re looking for UK ladies who have recently got married (during some point this year) who may want to come on the show and have their dresses trashed live on TV.

These were taken at the weekend when the bride & groom returned from honeymoon. The weather on their wedding day was terrible, it rained from start to finish & they didn’t get a chance to have any images taken outdoors. This shoot was great, a couple of hours before, the sky turned black & we had hail stones the size of pound coins, traffic was at a stand still as it was so bad!!! The sun eventually came out & we had fantastic light for the shoot, stormy clouds against blue sky & sun, wish everyday was like that.

Meyfroidt Photography – UK August 1, 2008

Coming from the commercial world into portrait and wedding photography about three years ago, I’ve tried to bring an artistic edge inspired by the latest fashion trends. The studio is based between Carlisle and Penrith in Cumbria, UK, giving us access to amazing landscapes that inspire creative ‘day after’ shoots. This is the first year we’ve offered these shoots and there’s been a great response, with bookings both locally and further afield outside the UK: can’t wait for the next one!

The couple in these images love the great outdoors and were completely open to the idea of an arty shoot on the day after their wedding day.

Unfortunately (or in hindsight, “fortunately”, given the fab shots we created) both the wedding day and the day after had severe gales and rain: bad enough to shut local roads and stop the ferries in the Lake District. But not bad enough to stop us tramping over the hills above Ullswater before beating a hasty retreat to the lake to finish off the shoot!

With bride and groom completely soaked in my car on the way back, we spotted a pair of cyclists coming the other way. I wound down the window and the bride shouted out ‘have you seen a church round here?’. Poor guy thought she was being serious, though his partner did see the funny side!
